As I leave the house, the heat radiates from the earth, the dandelions whiten, the ants busy themselves along the sidewalk, and the grass dries and browns along the verge and the hillsides as the heart of the summer begins. With a random Tuesday off from work, I’ve spent the day with no idea where I am in the week or what I should be doing, and so I plod forward into the next day.
